What could have been the most dramatic post ever...

I've waited a few days to write a post, because if I would have written this post a few days back it might have been a tad dramatic. Detoxing off soda, carbs, and sugar, is. miserable. Poor Prince Charming has to hear all about it. Yesterday I made him cheesy eggs and a smoothie for breakfast, boy did my shake look and taste depressing. A day before that I was complaining about how the world has no color when you're on a diet. Seriously, when your on a diet, it is like seeing and feeling in black and white. But, alas, I want to be healthy and happy about the way I look. Recently I've gotten another reason to lose weight, my little brother is getting married! I DON'T want to be the large bridesmaid... You know every wedding has one, the bridesmaid that sticks out from the others. The Double bubble amongst the double mint twins. So here is my goal: I weigh 146 pounds, I want to lose 20 pounds by December, because Fatty does not look good in ANY bridesmaid dresses.

My Joys:

-Today is Prince Charming's Birthday. I made him crepes with strawberry syrup and homemade whipped cream, it was almost as fun watching him enjoy them then if I pigged out myself.

-The new Ice drink package at Costco! Strawberry Watermelon is the best!

-My big purse that fits a mini cooler to hold my snacks.

Because as Maxwell the Gieco pig says: "Will there be snacks?!"

Frozen Grapes and Starvation...

When day two hits I feel like I'm starving. Recently I saw an episode of Naked and Afraid. When I was starving today I thought to myself, " those contestants would die for the food I've had today." Friends, the positive thinking was not helping, it just made me crave some roasted alligator.... In my personal struggle today I might have came up with a sort of solution. Frozen grapes! When my brother-in-law was trying to loose a few pounds a while back, he would pop some grapes in the freezer and eat them while cycling away like a crazy man on the stationary bike. So having grapes on hand I tried just that. The result was a cold and delicious snack. A bonus is that they take longer to eat frozen. Raise your hand if you have ever ate a whole bag of grapes in one setting... O.K. I'll lower my hand! I did make it through the day though, and even went to the gym! By the way, who ever thought of putting mirrors on the walls of gyms never watched their stomach squish as they did the leg press machine. Note to self: start wearing spandex to the gym.

Ta Ta for now,

Walker

Joys for today:

-Frozen grapes = deliciousness
-Took my little niece out for lunch, happy meal toys are awesome when you're five!

This made me laugh. In case you need it.. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Frozen-Grapes (Really it takes five steps, and instructions...)

Saying "no"!

Why is it so easy to say no to kids :)? In my classroom I think the kids thought it was the only word I knew. But then when you're grocery shopping it's so painful to say no to yourself! When they say don't go grocery shopping when you're hungry... They weren't lying. I said no to a donut, several candy bars, and that really good looking bag of chips. Then I went home and had something so much better... Ok I'm stretching it a bit now, I had a shake! Now that I'm sitting on my coach I'm glad I said no, but why is it so difficult to do it in the moment. My inner Fatty came out and said " Walker, eat the candy bar... You will only be happy if you eat it! Don't worry, nothing bad will happen!" Well friends, Fatty lies, it's not splurging on bananas that made me slightly overweight. I swear when I was standing in line the M&M characters on the bags were laughing at me!

Joys for today:

- We just spent 6 days in Paradise celebrating Prince Charming's birthday
- I woke up with enough time to go to the gym before church!
